Absolute Enforcement Awarded ERS Gold for Armed Forces Support

Absolute Enforcement is delighted to announce that we have received the Ministry of Defence’s 2025 Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award, the highest honour for employers who actively support the Armed Forces community. This achievement builds on our Bronze Award in 2019 and our Silver Award in November 2021, underscoring our ongoing dedication to those who serve.

Understanding the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme
The ERS encourages organisations—both private and public—to pledge, demonstrate and advocate their support for defence in line with the Armed Forces Covenant. Awards are tiered (Bronze, Silver and Gold), recognising the depth and impact of each employer’s commitment. While the scheme predominantly highlights private sector efforts, public bodies such as NHS trusts, local authorities and emergency services are also eligible.

What ERS Gold Represents
Gold Award status demands more than a signed pledge—it requires concrete action, including:

  • Proactive Advocacy: Implementing policies that visibly support defence and the Armed Forces community.
  • Dedicated Recruitment: Actively hiring service leavers, veterans and military spouses.
  • Reservist Flexibility: Ensuring Reservists can meet training and mobilisation commitments through tailored HR arrangements and additional paid leave.
  • Veteran and Cadet Support: Backing Cadet Instructors and offering special provisions for wounded, injured and sick veterans.

Supporting the Armed Forces Transition
We appreciate the unique challenges faced by military personnel moving into civilian roles. Many of our certificated Enforcement Agents are ex-military, and we ensure they receive comprehensive training and support from day one.

  • Certification: All agents must obtain the Level 3 Certificate in Taking Control of Goods. Through our partner EndeavourUK—an accredited provider under the MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELCAS)—candidates can use their ELCAS credits to fund this course.
  • Expert Guidance: EndeavourUK’s ex-military tutors lead the training, while their admin team manages court applications and certification hearings.
  • On-Road Mentoring: After certification (which takes roughly three months from application), every new agent is paired with a seasoned colleague for practical, on-road training and ongoing casework support.

Honouring the Armed Forces Covenant
As signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant, we pledge to:

  • Offer meaningful employment opportunities to veterans.
  • Provide flexible working arrangements for Reservists.
  • Support Armed Forces charities, events and community initiatives.

This commitment embodies our core values of integrity, compassion and social responsibility, and aligns us with a national network of organisations dedicated to creating an inclusive, supportive society for the Armed Forces community.
